My 1998 trans am sounds like the rear axle bounces or clangs when i hit a bump. When i slow down to a stop, the car sounds like it stalls, and then when i press the gas pedal again, it kicks hard into gear, like its slipping then pops into gear. Anyone know if this might be the transmission or differential problem?

The car starts like a champ and then after a couple of days it sounds as if it isn’t going to start but does. Then after about 10 days, won’t start. Leave it sit for several hours and it will start up with gusto. The whole cycle starts again. Been to a Pontiact dealer among others and they have no idea what the problem is.
