Is this battery problem? My car started up and then I forgot something and turned it off quicklyit wont start.
jamie kat asked:
I just got the battery replaced last year and it started up fine until I shut it off and then restarted.
It makes no sound at all
It’s a 99 Mercedes, it is cold here (ohio) and I don’t hear any noise or turnover when I start it. The battery is less than a year old and I’m due for an oil change.

Depends how cold it is where you live. You may just need to get the battery boosted to start. Do you have AAA? or similar? call for a jump start. Use a professional so car is jump started without any damage. also connections may need cleaning. Or get system tested; battery alternator etc. auto Zone or Kragen will do for free.

Does it make no sound at all when you turn the key, or does it make some kind of sound, but that it won’t turn over?

Take it to autozone or Sears. They’ll test it for free. You’ll have to test it anyway before replacing it anyway.
Good Luck.

or to expand on what tentoes said … does it turn over, but just not start running?
Please be more detailed, and include the year/make/model of your vehicle.

need more information as to what exactly is it doing like
do you hear a clicking sound when you turn the key ,or does it start to turn over then stop and you’ll start hearing clicking ,if so then I would say yes it is your battery ,if you turn the key to the on position and everything doesn’t come on then it could be a blown fuse, check the fuses if they are good then it is a dead battery ,try and jump start it with another vehicle if it won’t stay running then it is possibly both your alternator not charging and the battery is no good because of a bad alternator

When you Installed the New Battery did they Test the Alternator Properly? Voltage to the Battery with the Engine Running? (12.8 to 13.7), Grounded Alternator Regulator to Test for Full Amperage Output (Rated for that Alternator)? Could have A Bad Alternator not Maintaining the Charge for your Battery?
