2007 Toyota Corolla problem–car dies out and a yellow Chech signal comes on?

Today our 2007 Toyota Corolla started, we did not get but 1/2 mile and the car stopped. A gold-yellow signal came on the panel and did not go off. We were able to drive the car back home on the driveway. What could be the problem please.
