The Importance of Auto Insurance

Friday, June 5th, 2009

As everybody knows, Auto Insurance is necessary. But why is that the case?

The best way to define auto insurance is as follows: it is a mutually beneficial agreement between the auto insurance company and a policy holder. The deal is simple: the auto insurance company pays for any losses (according to a policy’s terms), and the policy holder pays a premium.

Auto insurance provides coverage of liability, medical expenses and property loss. In the unfortunate event an accident occurs, and you are the cause of this accident, your insurance company will have to pay for any medical bills and property loss you sustained. Furthermore, if any injuries were suffered by the other driver, or any damages caused to his vehicle, it would have to pay that as well. Conversely, if you are involved in an accident but the fault is not yours, the other driver’s insurance would have to cover your losses (as specified by his insurance plan).

This arrangement helps to protect you from a lawsuit if you get into an accident. There are also times that you may have an accident with someone who does not have coverage, and your insurance covers you during those times as well. Thus, if the insurance company chooses to, they can sue the other driver for their losses.

Factors that can determine your Auto Insurance premiums are age, gender, marital status, geographical location, previous driving violations, type of vehicle you wish to insure, accident claims, your credit rating, occupation, education, driving distance per year, years of driving experience, miles driven to work, business use of your vehicle, theft protection and safety devices on your car, and whether you have multiple drivers and cars on your policy. For instance, a married female driver over the age of 25 will have a lower rate than that of a single 18 year old male driver.

If you live in a rural area, your premiums will probably be lower than a driver who lives in New York City. The chance of getting into an accident is greater in highly congested cities. Safety and theft deterrent devices on cars usually land you a discount, because they are proven to reduce risk of injury and loss.

To make sure that you get the lowest premiums on your Auto Insurance, make sure that you shop around. One company may find your occupation to be a higher risk than another company, while another may find that your geographic location poses a greater risk than another carrier. It never hurts to get several quotes that all compare the exact same coverage. You never know, if a company knows that you are shopping around they may have a way to beat the lower quote of their competitor.

Some Elementary Concepts in Auto Insurance

Friday, June 5th, 2009

Legally, every car owner in United States must be covered under some type of auto insurance as stated by the Department of Motor Vehicles or DMV. This protects the owner of the car against damage to himself or his car, as well as protects other people from damages he may inadvertently cause.

Auto Insurance Coverage includes several definitions. These definitions determine the responsibilities and obligations of the policy holder, as a car owner, in case of damage to his car, the theft of his car, or an involvement in a car accident.

Definitions:

Property Coverage: this defines the coverage for which the insurance company is responsible for when the policy owner’s car is damaged (through accidents or vandalism) or when it is stolen. Clearly, a very important option.

Liability Coverage: this defines the coverage the insurance company provides for the policy holder when he is involved an accident and causes bodily or property damage to someone else. By having this option, the policy holder is protected, as defined by his policy, from the financial costs.

Medical Coverage: this term applies to the amount of money paid for the hospitalization and treatment of injuries incurred during an accident, as well as the costs of rehabilitation, and wages lost by the injured person during this time of incapacitation.

The following are standard policies:

There is a great variety of auto insurance policies which exist for the purpose of indemnifying the car owner in case of loss, injury or damage. These also can be classified into several types.

Third Party: this is the simplest and cheapest policy, and the bare minimum, a car owner must possess if he owns a car. It financially protects an insured individual when he causes damage to someone or their property.

Fire and Theft: this type of policy offers more protection to the policy holder, and will cover the cost of a car that is burnt or is stolen. Note that it does not cover any damages incurred if involved in a car accident.

Collision: this type of policy covers the cost of repairs of the insured car even if the policy holder is responsible for the accident that caused the damage.

Personal Injury Protection (PIP) or Medical Payments (MedPay): this policy protects the driver and any passengers that were in his car during a car accident, by reimbursing them for medical bills and lost wages. Note that the question who caused the accident is irrelevant for this policy.

Comprehensive: this type of insurance offers the most protection to the policy holder, and covers everything from accidents, to auto theft, to fire damage, to act of god (vandalism, hurricane, flood). It can even cover the cost, at least partially, of medical expenses suffered during an accident and of items stolen from a car. Unsurprisingly, this is also the most expensive car insurance.

The following are specialized policies:

The following are specialized policies that only some people may be interested in.

Classic car insurance: covers a car that is older than 25 years. In principle it is equivalent to a standard comprehensive car insurance, however, it may have a limitation on the number of miles the owner can drive per year.

Rental Reimbursement: this type of policy simply insures a policy holder in case his car is unavailable – he is given a replacement rental car for this period.

No matter which policy you may have, it is essential that you are intimately familiar with its details as this could have significant financial repercussions when the time comes. For instance, some auto insurance plans only reimburse 80% of the value of a stolen car – the reason being, to avoid fraud (car owners from staging theft of their own cars).

Private Party Car Loans

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

Since most of us, myself included, don’t have a safe with a big stack of cash in it we need to finance our auto purchases. Most people go with dealership financing but there is another option. Private party auto loans are often a more practical solution depending on your situation. In General here are some of the major differences between the two types of loans.

The Loan Term

Private Lenders typically offer loans between 24 and 48 months. That is much shorter than the typical 72 month dealership auto loan term.

This means that given the same amount of money you will pay higher monthly payments but overall only a fraction of the interest with a typical private party auto loan.

Interest Rates

Despite typically costing less in interest over the course of the loan, private party lenders tend to offer loans with slightly higher APRs. This is not always the case though, depending on your credit score and how much shopping around you do for loans you can often find a loan with a comparable rate. So be sure to shop around!

Pre-Approval

At a dealership sales people will often get you interested in a particular vehicle assuring you that the financing will be no problem. Sometimes it is. With private party auto loans the financing is setup beforehand so you can go into the dealership with your money in hand which puts you in an excellent negotiating position.

Another advantage to this setup is that buyers with less than perfect credit can find out exactly how much car they can afford before they decide on one. It sucks to find the perfect vehicle and be told after doing all the paperwork that they cannot actually afford it.

Freedom To Buy From Private Sellers

The difference between buying the same car at a dealership or from a private seller is typically thousands of dollars. Many people think they can’t go the private party route because they cannot finance their purchase, but private party auto loans do just that.

The Auto Industry Bail Out

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

I ask what is going on here in the USA? I am not a financial genius and I could be wrong but this is the way I see it. First we bailed out the banks because they gave out too many bad loans. These people who are financial geniuses gave out loans to people who could not afford them, hoping things would get better and the people could pay their Bills. Basically what they did was gambling. Its like me going to Las Vegas betting over and over on red figuring it will come up eventually and when it never does and I lose all my Money. I then go and ask for all of it back plus more! The Banks who gave the Mortgages where given a bail out of around 600 Billion Dollars so they could stay in business. Now as I have read for around half of that the Government could have paid off all those bad loans and helped poor American Families keep their homes. If all the bad loans where paid then would not that take care of all the Banks problems? Instead they gave super rich bankers who mad bad choices lots of Money so they can continue to make the same decisions that failed before and live their incredible lives that most of us can only dream about.

Now we have the same thing going on with the Auto industry. I do not understand why we would bail them out. It seems to me that if you run a business and you fail, well then you fail. Aren’t these the same auto makers who over charge us for their cars? I can not believe none these manufactures can make a car that will last much longer and run on less gas or some other type of cheaper fuel. The Auto industry and the men who run it have been a major controlling factor in the world for many years. Aren’t these the same Auto Tycoons that we have heard stories about them keeping all the new smaller car companies from starting up or “buying up” any competitor who comes up with a better Motor Vehicle for over the last half century? The story of Tucker and his dream of making a better car for hard working Americans, Was that not a true Story?

If these Auto Companies where left to go out of Business many Americans who work at these Companies factories would lose their jobs. I do care and understand that it would be very hard on them. Right now is a tough time for all Americans. But I believe that before the dust could even settle from these companies collapse, We would have many small car manufactures starting up making much better cars at lower prices. These cars would last many years longer then the current ones we drive and I can only guess would run much further on a gallon of gas or some other cheaper fuel source. I would bet that fuel would be much better for the environment. Soon after with the huge super powerful big Three of the auto industry no longer in control and maybe crushing any small start up auto manufacturers, We would have hundreds of small car companies all across the Country and soon many more jobs for everyone along with much better automobiles to drive around in that burn cleaner fuels. Who knows maybe we could even get those dam flying cars we where all promised as Kids!

This is a hard time for this country. I think it is evident in the choices the American people have made as of recent, that we now know we can no longer have the same people in power making the same mistakes. These companies and the people that have been controlling this Country have lead us down this road. It looks to me that now that we have reached the end of the road and there is a cliff. Those that have been leading us are now asking us all to trust them and jump off that cliff and fill in the gap so they can walk over us and allow them to continue leading the way !

The idea of this country has always been if you can build a better Mouse trap you can become a Millionaire. What it looks like to me is these people did not allow any one else to build a better Mouse trap. Then they sold the only traps available making them so they would last only a short time, While charging a real high price for them. It has got to the point where the people can not afford to buy new Mouse traps when the old ones brake and have decided they will either try to fix the old ones or just live with the mice. They need their money for other things more important then new Mouse Traps. Now like in the case of the auto Companies they are asking the Government to give them the Money the people can no longer afford to spend on their products.

Now is not the Money they are asking to be given the hard earned Money the Government has taken from the same people in Taxes who can no longer afford to buy these products! These Companies are getting the hard earned Money of the American People who can no longer afford to buy these over priced Vehicles, That last a much shorter time then the ones made 50 years ago. Now our Government who has been over taxing us for years is thinking about giving away 15 Billion dollars of our money.

What charities and programs are we going to have to cut so these Auto tycoons who have houses all over the world, Their own private Jets and pretty much anything they have ever wanted continue to get richer? Will this money come from our Schools? What about the Hungry Children of the USA? What about all those people who are out of work and those that are going to lose their homes the banks are foreclosing on? I bet 15 Billion dollars could really help them out.

America is the land of dreams. It is the Country where a man can be poor one day and rich the next if he has a good idea. There is nothing that says if you have a great Idea and then you make a Mistake and lose everything the Government will bail you out! We are not helping the poor Auto factory workers here, They most likely will loose his jobs any way. We are only helping the Rich Auto Tycoons to be able to pay for all their many luxuries! Do I think our Government will bail them out? Well to that all I have to say is take a look at who funded many of today’s politicians campaign and then you will have your answer?

Again I am not a financial Genius and I may have this all wrong I am only Your Bro L.J. James AmericanBikerX.com

The Car Art Museum

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

The Car Art Museum is located in Houston, Texas, in the United States. Privately owned, this museum opened in 1988 and goes by its informal yet popular nickname, The Garage Mahal.

The museum is a contemporary art museum that displays both present day contemporary art and art collections that are of historical significance. The museum puts great emphasis on cars as art. This is art that allows artists to follow on specific guidelines or rules regarding art.

The contemporary nature of this form of art is maintained by having car standards and models from specific periods in history featured in artistic designs. The use of fine art in their exhibitions also makes the popularity of aesthetic art a great deal more pronounced. These art forms are especially shown in art objects that are produced containing performing art forms and visual art forms. These will usually include sculptures, painting, theatre, photography, and dance.

Therefore, the museum also focuses on performing arts as well as other types of art mediums. Performing arts include those that use the presence, body and face of an artist to create art objects literally from the physical.

Ann Harithas who had been a long-time supporter of the Car Art Movement and at the same time an artist herself started this Car Art Museum. Her partner James Harithas was the former director of Corcoran Museum, which is based in Washington DC.

When you visit the Car Art Museum’s showroom, you see works of art that artists and car enthusiasts alike find utterly mesmerizing. Modern car culture’s spirit is used again and again as the centerpiece of the exhibitions held often here. Cars’ elaborately re-molded stocks feature intricate designs of mobile contraptions, low riders, and cars.

One of these exhibitions involves the display of sculptures that have been done by an artist from Houston. This exhibition brings to light some of the most gifted Houston artists. Each of these artists represents a significant figure in the Houston art world.

Single person exhibitions are also showcased, and these feature both religiously based and contemporary pieces focusing on varying emphases on surrealism and morality. The museum’s art forms can also be called “modern art,” since the museum itself features works that utilize elements prior to the year 1970.

These particular types of art preserve the philosophy and style of the art that was commonly associated with that particular time period. The museum also showcases pieces created with scrap metal or that are constructed of chrome. This breathtaking museum’s roof reminds one of a Byzantine Empire’s Temple. It is clear that the Art Car Museum of Houston, Texas goes beyond corporate code utilitarian viewpoints. Instead, it provides those who come to see it an in-depth look into the Car Art Movement. Thus, one is drawn into the whole movement, in its entirety.

Why A High Quality Auto Sound System Is A Great Investment

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

For those who love music and the ability to take their favorite tunes wherever they may roam, there are some fabulous auto sound systems that you can listen to as you go down the road. It doesn’t really matter which style of MP3 player you use, most of the newer auto sound systems at least have the ability to read and translate the material from these players into great music for you to enjoy on your ride by simply plugging your personal MP3 player into the modern car stereo. Isn’t it amazing?

Many of us find that lugging around an MP3 player with all of our favorite sound file, it is much more convenient and way more practical than attempting to lug around a huge case of CDs. They are fantastic for individuals who find ourselves disappointed when we purchase CDs only to discover that we really only like one or two songs. It is just a great feeling to have your favorite songs ready for when there is nothing on the radio or if you just want to zone out commercials.

Audio books are super to listen to while driving on the road. Audio books allow me to hear the stories I’ve been eagerly awaiting at my convenience and in my SUV as I’m making my daily commute or running errands. I really need the good car stereo sound quality for the words to be understandable at a normal volume level. Audio books are wonderful for helping to pass time on long car trips.

I typically try to get hold of stories that might appeal the children on long car rides as well (such as the Madeleine L’Engle books or The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes). This instills a love of reading in them and I don’t have to agonize about a few bad words that some audio books will say. The sound quality in an auto sound system that is very high-quality will make the spoken word much easier to understand, as well as the music have more depth and quality of sound.

When you embark on your quest for your next auto sound system make certain you contemplate all the potential features you may want to include. In fact the choices are seemingly endless as technology advances. Choose the car sound system that will meet your needs and interests best and just simply enjoy it. Trust me when I tell you this. When you get a new car audio system with everything that you want, you won’t regret it. It will give you a world of sound that you didn’t even know existed in your factory system.

Half Water Half Gas Save 60% On Gas

Saturday, May 9th, 2009

High gas prices have become a normal occurrence today. We often have to shell out more and more money to get just as far as we were getting before.

Today, there is a solution to this problem called Half Water Half Gas. This system allows your car to run on both gas and water allowing you to save over 60% of your fuel costs.

This technology was apparently invented over 90 years ago but was never put into widespread use because the oil industry did not like it. This technology has become more available today due to the internet and better spread of information.

This system basically works by increasing gasoline efficiency by running a car on gasoline and water.

We see that it works fine by using the extra electricity that is generated by the battery to turn the water in oxygen and hydrogen. This is then run through the engine’s vacuum system to blend with the gas. Gas in normal cars doesn’t burn very efficiently so by adding water, you end up with a cleaner burn and also the result of not as much gas having been used. So, you are saved quite a bit of gas and in turn, quite a bit of money.

The technology to be able to make your car run on water and gas is surprisingly simple and anyone can install it. Even those people without any automobile experience can do it in about 30 minutes using hardware and tools that can be picked up at a hardware store.

If you are interested in picking up your own guide on installing this wonderful device to save you 60% and more of your fuel costs, then check out the Half Water Half Gas guide which features detailed instructions on how to install such a system and allow you to start saving more money on gasoline today.
